The Soci packaging identity was borne from the heady mix of flavour, fragrance and the magic of tropical Indian forests. A curious distillation of hand picked botanicals; a drink that transports you into another realm.
rgd was tasked with developing branding and packaging for a new Indian craft gin. As gin enthusiasts we were thrilled, but also aware of the proliferation of brands available in the market, and were keen to find the distinguishing characteristics of this Gin.
Deep diving into the gin making process, we realised that all of the botanicals being sourced were almost all growing in plantations on fringes of forests. The master distiller emphasised the flavours and the fragrances of each ingredient whilst explaining the mastery behind the blend and flavour. It was in this process that we found our story.
Mystical, magical, deep and dark, Soci transports you into the depths of a heady tropical adventure. A space redolent with the smell of wet earth and of wild peppers and cinnamon and juniper; marigolds and champa. Where deer fly and butterflies covort with fish; turtles lie languid after eating lotus stems - all in the forest of Soci; under the watchful eye of our two headed snake and his monkey friend!


The packaging, much like the gin is designed to transport you into a magical realm, a unique Indian adventure. A tropical forest redolent with the smell of wet earth and of wild peppers and cinnamon and juniper; marigolds and champa. Where deer fly and butterflies cavort with fish; turtles lie languid after eating lotus stems…
